Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa won back some of Ferrari's lost pride by winning both pole positions for Ferrari in the qualifying session of the French Formula One (F1) Grand Prix.

Renault driver and defending World Champion Fenando Alonso did not manage to threaten Michael Schumacher, even though both drivers were challenging each other during the last 15 minute session of the French Grand Prix Qualifiers.

Fernando Alonso finished third with Renault co-driver Giancarlo Fisichella starting from seventh in the grid of tomorrow's French Gran Prix. Alonso complained about the grip of his car in corners during the French Grand Prix qualifying race.

Ferrari managed the top two starting places in Renault's and Michelin's backyard. Bridgestone seem to have made wonders in this Grand Prix, with all the teams wearing their tyres performing really well.

Bad news for Honda and Britain's favourite Jenson Button who retreated to the pit-stops before the end of the qualifying session, as he did not manage to finish in the Top Ten.
