Ferrari, Schumacher and Bridgestone the Winning Recipe in the French Grand PrixSubmitted by grandprixlatest.com on Sun, 2006-07-16 23:27.
Ferrari made a strong comeback in the French Grand Prix, with both Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa getting on the podium, with Renault's Fernando Alonso finishing second. Schumacher won the French Grand Prix for a record 8th time. Despite Renault's comments that it was a good race for them, it was clear from the start of the race that Fernando Alonso could not challenge Michael Schumacher. Michelin's tyres were not what Renault would want, with Alonso complaining about his car's grip during Saturday's qualifying session. With Giancarlo Fisichella finishing the Grand Prix at the sixth place, Renault could not hope for more. Starting the race with a three pit-stop strategy Disappointment for Toyota with Jarno Trulli retiring early in the race with a brakes issue, however team-mate Ralf Schumacher managed to finish fourth. Very impressive Grand Prix which left a taste of Michael Schumacher's and Ferrari's glory days. Disappointment for the French fans who were expecting more from Renault in France.
